๐
hello ๐
how'd the meet go last night, @achesnais ?
Hey @robert-stuttaford ! Went well I think ๐ Lots of people collaborating/conversing/sharing knowledge! And everyone left with a working Clojure set up ๐
rad !
looks like install day was a good call
Yep thanks for the idea ๐
what's going to happen next time around, @achesnais ?
Iโm keen to build something
Maybe revive your game
Or start from scratch
7 wonders is a fun game ๐
cljs frontend with a clj backend?
starting from scratch is good, because learning
also, our existing code is oooold
i wouldn't want to use those libs that way any more XD
we should definitely build something from scratch, that would be super fun
@sinjin.swanepoel: thatโs a cool idea. Iโd like to keep a similar format for the meetup going forward, with an emphasis on group work/collaboration rather than 1 person talking.
so Iโd be in favour of several groups working on separate small projects, and we can use meetups for showing off whatโs been worked on and code reviews
that's a fab idea
but once again, really depends on what people are keen for
@sinjin.swanepoel: I also like the idea of adapting an existing game to clj(s) โย this way, you get to focus on the code, not on the game mechanics
@robert-stuttaford: when you guys built your game, any feedback on how the format you adopted for group work worked?
i just invited you as an owner of https://github.com/orgs/cape-town-clojure, @achesnais
what even was the format
?
we never seriously got off the ground, unfortunately
Sweet ๐
but basically, teams of 2-4 sat around a machine and built something
with everyone declaring what they're building up front
slackers
pretty much
