yes @tgoossens !! we are missing one for the 100! should we prepare something special to celebrate it? π
Ideas? π€π»
@vijaykiran: nice!
mine fails on seq-caps though - perhaps I should write a gen-test π
you can always use commons-lang π
what is the er, spec? π
You won by calling it snake though so your naming is better even if the code is not ;-)
wait - did I call it snake? I think it should be Kebab
snake = hello_world, yelling snake = HELLO_WORLD
someone on the internet : https://github.com/qerub/camel-snake-kebab
I watched the keynote from clojure remote by @ztellman and we are not following his advice :(
It has happened! 100 members in beclojure ! π π π
π
Yay!!!
π»
I have messaged him (heβs called Arne) on meetup and told him that he will have a special place in our β€οΈ
π
Arne Brasseur?
@tgoossens: suggests a monthly video interview with a Belgian clojurian
@danipov: yes, thatβs the gent
He is the guy from the Lambdaisland screencasts π
send the link
I donβt know it
It s awesome
freebie episode
@raymcdermott: it could be interesting to do a monthly interview to a clojurian π
ok, well thatβs the guy β¦ the site looks awesome and it seems like he could give a talk or two!
I have tapped him up on the meetup - hopefully heβll join us here soon
Anyone have suggestions to make high audio quality type of interview over the web ?
I use skype + screenflow
Maybe we should have an invitation to slack in the welcome message when joining the group
We could do audio only interviews as well of course
well, with screenflow you can record everythin or just the audio, as you wish π
I have made personal messages to the folks joining as of 1st June to join us on Slack
Have you modified the welcome message? feel free to change it π
I havenβt - let me take a look at that
π
sounds good π
Iβll fix it up
We have a question on the sign up page about training - is that interesting to anyone?
some people answer yes β¦ is that followed up?
I would prefer to drop the question if not
At the beginning I though to make more belgian oriented trainings just to promote/speed up the integration of Clojure in Belgium, but we never took any action on it. I'm checking all the replies and almost everyone would like some free training, even if it's online... but it's true that there's a lot of material out there..
ok, so letβs drop it then
any other questions that we should ask?
maybe like do you run a Clojure training web site π
Ask them for a link to any clojure related topics they worked on
or maybe more general, are you already contributing with the clojure community (clojure web trainning, open source projects, etc)
ok, plus maybe which part of belgium they prefer to meet?
that's a good one π
Good idea.
ok, Iβll fix it now
thanks! π
all done
must really stop slacking now and do some work π
before I go here is a review of recording software
http://thenextweb.com/apps/2011/02/09/5-great-ways-to-record-skype-calls/
we use ecamm for the podcast
hey everyone, congrats on your 100 members π
π
I just signed up to stay in the loop about meetups, I didn't expect it to be a special occasion π
What do you want to know about your fellow clojurians. Give some suggestions for interview questions https://docs.google.com/a/thomasgoossens.be/document/d/1INN_Vmh2lHJjeWY4kdkRFXpYq00HyRz1bQOCmtEWEJk/edit?usp=docslist_api
I live in Berlin now but I'm originally from Belgium. I'd love to give a talk some time, I'll be in Belgium a couple times over the summer so maybe we can work something out
if I can suggest something for the http://meetup.com page, the first question you ask when signing up is a yes/no clojure, "Have you ever worked with Clojure before?"
might be better to make that a more open question, like "What Clojure experience do you have, if any?"
