👋
God morning!
Good Morning!
mawning!
mawing indeed!
Morning
now then
morning
Good morning!
Good morning
We're supposed to be participating in sensory development play, but I guess not
At times, it’s really really bad. I’m fairly good at functioning acceptably on very little sleep, it seems; my greatest struggle is getting out of bed, but once I’m out, I’m somewhat OK (and even better after coffee 🙂 )
But some days, I’ve felt like I probably shouldn’t drive the car, for example.
sleep is important too 🙂
morning
More so!
Sleep is not an option once you're a parent 😛
I’m feeling that atm 😞
4-month sleep regression or whatever. His sleep pattern has been all over the place the past few weeks
So, since I’m not getting that much sleep currently due to above-pictured cherub, I’m looking for a bean-to-cup coffee machine, that is, one that grinds beans and creates a cup of coffee by itself. It has to have a steam wand, though. Any suggestions?
My mother-in-law has a “press-one-button” machine, which grinds beans and make bad espresso. My advice, if you care about how the coffe taste get a Rancilio Silvia and Rocky combo. We’ve had ours since our twins were 6 months and it’s been serving us daily coffee for the last 10.5 years, apart from a small period after 5 when it had to go to service.
And, my mother-in-laws press-one-button machine insist on a lot of care, and refuses to make coffee if it thinks the drip-tray is full, or if the used coffee chamber is full, or if it thinks it needs a de calc. Silvia just makes coffee, and she’s on all day long.
Hehe they do have red lights that come on when the coffee chamber is full or when the water tank is full (annoyingly, not when the coffee beans are out) - but I think not having them and just overflowing is worse 😉
@slipset so you ground beans, stamped the portafilter and steamed milk while your twins were 6 months old?
Out of all the things you do, this might be the most impressive.
Or maybe it’s just not as time-consuming as I imagine 😕
Yup. while the three year old was running around 🙂

I’d imagine that making a coffee takes me about five minutes. If you have one kid and you can’t have five undisturbed minutes, you need to get some advice @pez or myself 🙂
😃 get more kids is my advice
To desensitize ourselves until the childcare bootstraps itself. Got it 😛
At 6 month they don't move to much on their own or can easily be constrained 😛
My daughter was crawling around at 5.5 months. She spent 3 hours in the "cute phase"
We’re thinking ours will start crawling sooner than later, so we better get him a cage soon 😄
i found it calmed down after just a couple of years or so @ordnungswidrig
I depends on wether you can sleep well while your teenager daughters are partying 😛
:partywombat:
oh, i still have that to look forward to!
I've put an eye on this one https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07B2X1VXZ/?coliid=I1U8QTEN0LNNAI&colid=3IIWBT0N95CEG&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Upgrading from a "button press all inclusive but I can only make bad coffee" machine
Morning
We have a delonghi one, the cheapest model. My wife prefers drip but for middle of the day espresso it’s what we bought to survive our own daughter
Something similar to this https://www.pricerunner.dk/pl/82-3673343/Kaffemaskiner/DeLonghi-Magnifica-S-ECAM-21.117.B-Sammenlign-Priser
I don’t make cappuccinos but we managed to froth milk a couple of times we tried so with a bit of practice it’s possible. More expensive ones have a milk container and can make the froth hands free
🤯
Hands free froth never will be as good as manual froth. 🙂 Just keep practicing.
And experiment with the kind of milk.. Fat content, brand. Happiness of the cows etc.
@ordnungswidrig argh, I can’t think that far ahead. I live with a weekly outlook atm
Also, I can’t bear to think that far ahead. I can only afford a myopic, idyllic little image of tweenage/teenage son playing board games with his mum and dad.
Organic sødmælk (sweet milk) 4tw!
High fat content = tasty. I don’t think I’ve had a latte made with lower fat content that I really liked (but I’m always open to try)
@ordnungswidrig which one are you upgrading from? My fear is spending thousands on a neatly automated machine that produces sour gunk. I’ve had the Sage Barista Express recommended, actually, but our required ease of use makes it a bit too demanding for us, I think.
I think we’ll figure out how to froth pretty quickly, I don’t see that as an obstacle.
And we want the freedom that a wand gives 🙂 Even if that is a little extra work.
@orestis the Delonghis were in my scope early on, and I thought we might buy one. As I read more, I regrettably learned that there’s a lot I don’t know about coffee makers and coffee brewing. Don’t have analysis paralysis just yet, but I’m not getting anywhere fast 😅
Ours is maybe 8 years old, pretty sure it’s no longer on stock 🙂 It’s AEG brand but I don’t know the model.
