Btw, there was some talk in the meetup about how it would be nice to have a chat that does not immediately eat all the chat history. How do people feel about the Clojurians Zulip? https://clojureverse.org/t/introducing-clojurians-zulip/3173 https://clojurians.zulipchat.com/

My feelings are somewhere between nice and ojasta allikkoon

so far there hasn't been much discussion here worth saving?

miikka 2019-01-17T08:58:11.014Z

my problem with the disappearing chat history is that this channel looks dead, not that i'd like search the logs per se

slack is too expensive I guess and alternatives mean yet more fragmentation and SPA chat apps open at the same time

miikka 2019-01-17T09:09:14.014400Z

yeah, that's what i meant by ojasta allikkoon

saw Zulip some time ago but forgot about it. After quick check, seems that there’s some activity there

viesti 2019-01-17T10:16:23.014800Z

there’s even a mirror of #clojure from Slack 😄

viesti 2019-01-17T10:17:40.015Z

found that from Sean Corfield’s answer

some time ago talked about the history issue with Sean. Funny thing is that this keeps getting talked about but the that bit of history also vanishes 🙂

I think the logbot still archives messages but the webapp for displaying the archive isn’t refreshed that often: https://clojurians-log.clojureverse.org/ (maintained by the lambda island guy)

I don’t have a clear plan, but I’d be willing to try Zulip out

macroz 2019-01-17T14:00:49.015800Z

zulip could be nice, too bad about yet another tool

macroz 2019-01-17T14:01:01.016Z

what about https://clojureverse.org/
