You mentioned some great companies, sad that they are too far from my living place. And the most don't offer remote jobs.

Just curious, where do you live? I'm doing full time clojure in very southern Germany. (Allgaeu).

In Saxony. The most companies I found use Java or PHP. There is a small Clojure community in Leipzig.

In general, my feeling is that Clojure is still very much a niche here.

True, but that is not particular helpful when looking for new opportunities and don't have the flexibilty to move -- then you have to be more flexible wrt. your technical priorities.

good to know there are at least Clojure jobs here in Germany (I'm at Bayern), but, judging from the background requirements, I think I won't even pass 😄 esp. considering that I don't even have strong Math/Physics background and isn't even a CS graduate, but in any case I just love to hack, learn, and share the experiences (only started to code a year after graduated college), and I find Lisp fascinating (also Python). I think other than being a pretty good niche, Clojure companies requires a much higher expectations (even higher than those of Python companies), which will make it more difficult to join in, even if it's your passion, esp. for the newbs such as I.
