Morning, on the way to become a Rapid Developer..
mendix?
Morning
That's the first time I couldn't find a wiki page for a programming language
Some sort of language for robotics?
I think it's some kind of "4gl" language
Had to Google that too
😅
I see mendix has a section on their website about how they are different from 4gl... A colleague of mine like this "model driven" stuff, but it makes me feel kind of tired
I may be oversimplifying but often I feel these frameworks generate a lot of bloat that could be solved with a couple of Clojure macros :P Or better avoided altogether like ORM
I have never worked with it so it's totally unfounded
it generates code, but you normally don't have to deal with the code directly
they have a fancy visual editor around all this
i never used it, but i have a lot of colleagues who use Mendix a lot
morning
Yes, but going develop for Mendix, not with Mendix, but it helps to know how it's used.
I guess it has it uses, as long as you know the limitations, and don't start working around them. It's also about the process around code, and let you easily share bits within a company or everyone.
ah ok, the company i'm working for was just acquired by Mendix
will you be working on kafka related stuff?
