Good Morning Peeps!
Wow, just when you thought freenode couldn't explode any more, they dropped all the accounts and channels
It's sad π
I'm on libera now

> All those IRC folks grumbling about Slack being proprietary and that it couldn't be trusted... well, it can't be trusted, can it? I think this event just proves why IRC can be trusted, one of the most popular networks gets taken over by external forces and almost everyone just moves overnight and proceeds to laugh at the attackers. If slack goes down, will people just move to a new slack? no because there isn't such a uniform consensus about the platform as in the case of IRC. Anyone who wanted to leave IRC left it long ago.
I was considering dropping my freenode account anyway (not easy, when it was 16+ years old!), but now I don't have to. I only noticed yesterday that the page on http://clojure.org had been changed to point to libera (I was on both channels)
All those IRC folks grumbling about Slack being proprietary and that it couldn't be trusted...
Ouch!

Good Morningβ’
btw, I forgot (didn't forget) to mention that I started a new full time Clojure job on Monday!
Congrats... where?
HealthUnlocked
as in which company.
cool
Oh awesome, they're cool π...
Indeed! So far so good! π
Thatβs fabulous news! Congratulations!
Awesome, congrats!
Congratulations.
Btw, not sure if this is of interest to people in the group, but I thought I'd mention it because I'm still riding high on the positive feeling. So this weekend was the GMTK gamejam and I managed to get a submission in working with a few people. It's my first jam and so really feeling good for having successfully submitted. I didn't do it in clojure, no way I was going to convince a random selection of gamedevs to do that π... But I do admit that doing gamedev in clojure made the thinking process of working out how to build stuff much easier π...
game dev in haskell - do you happen to recollect the name of it, and would you recommend it?
wait a moment, my ecosia-foo failed me π - https://leanpub.com/gameinhaskell?
That's the one. I haven't read it, but heard an interview with her on a podcast once. (Maybe on Functional Geekery, but I could be wrong)
thanks for that, i'll give both a look
Ok, that's cool, thanks for that π...
I'll give it a look!
Congrats @dharrigan!

There's a game dev in Haskell book. I don't recall if I've come across anything to do with game dev in Clojure.
