Looking to help in anyway I can!

2016-02-17T18:40:30.000006Z

There are lots of options, joshua.d.horwitz. 1) Organize a workshop 2) Work on curriculum 3) Help with organizing materials. I'm not aware of what the most pressing needs are right now, but I could probably help direct you according to your interest if you'd like.

2016-02-17T18:40:57.000007Z

There is also a Donate button on the ClojureBridge web site now

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:02:44.000008Z

@bridgetI would love to help with the materials. I am also going to give a presentation to my class about ClojureBridge and was wondering if there were any good materials to read and use.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:02:50.000009Z

@bridget:

The ClojureBridge repo is filled with great stuff

2016-02-17T19:07:02.000011Z

Start here: https://github.com/ClojureBridge/curriculum

2016-02-17T19:09:04.000013Z

A few people have done talks, so if you search https://www.youtube.com/user/ClojureTV for ClojureBridge, you should find them

2016-02-17T19:10:20.000014Z

Ali King did one at ClojureX, which, I believe is the most recent: https://skillsmatter.com/skillscasts/7235-clojurebridge-building-a-more-diverse-clojure-community

2016-02-17T19:10:41.000016Z

Would you like to help with Organizing or Curriculum materials?

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:25:14.000017Z

Sure!

2016-02-17T19:26:57.000018Z

 Which one?

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:33:04.000019Z

Curriculum materials probably would be best.

2016-02-17T19:49:35.000020Z

Great! So there are a number of issues, many of which have been triaged: https://github.com/ClojureBridge/curriculum/issues

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:50:50.000022Z

Thanks, I’ll get working

2016-02-17T19:51:57.000023Z

Working through the curriculum and copy editing, etc is always useful. Also, they are always open to receiving new Quil sketches along with instructions or other exercises.

2016-02-17T19:52:38.000024Z

Maybe someone who is actively working on the curriculum will drop by here and have pointers to what is the highest priority.

2016-02-17T19:52:50.000025Z

But I bet you'll have the most luck with whatever you're most interested in

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:52:55.000026Z

Great. Do you guys have any presence in Detroit, Michigan at all?

2016-02-17T19:53:02.000027Z

Yes!!

2016-02-17T19:53:46.000028Z

My friend Josh Headapohl ran a workshop a while back

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T19:56:38.000029Z

Oh great! I’m in Ann Arbor

2016-02-17T19:57:31.000030Z

We should connect you two - he would probably help out somehow if you wanted to put one on there.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T20:02:49.000031Z

That would be awesome

meow 2016-02-17T20:07:45.000032Z

I have created a ClojureBridge group on Braid. Any member may join. Would prefer to begin with the leaders and promote them to admins so they can control invitations and membership.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T20:23:38.000034Z

@meow Excellent!

jheadapohl 2016-02-17T20:32:09.000035Z

@joshua.d.horwitz: I’m the Josh who co-organized a workshop in Detroit. FarmLogs is in Ann Arbor and some people there have expressed interest in hosting a workshop but I have not talked to them in a while.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T20:32:35.000036Z

Hi Josh, nice to meet you! Yeah, I’ve heard that they are a pretty cool Clojure shop

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T20:32:47.000037Z

hopefully I’ll get a chance to do Clojure professionally sometime

jheadapohl 2016-02-17T20:34:20.000038Z

Nice to meet you too. They seem like a nice group. And there seem to be a growing number of businesses using Clojure.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T20:37:52.000039Z

Well I look forward to moving out from the Java world to using it professionally.

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T21:04:16.000040Z

@jheadapohl: Where abouts are you?

jheadapohl 2016-02-17T21:04:32.000041Z

Bloomfield Township

Josh Horwitz 2016-02-17T21:12:38.000042Z
