Hey @reborg I wrote them e-mail. I hope to get answer. It was to <mailto:sales@skillsmatter.com|sales@skillsmatter.com>. Do you know about better way how to contact them?
Try to use the email links on the page of the administrator: https://www.resolvegroupuk.com/news/resolve-appointed-administrators-of-skills-matter-limited/
I bought a clojurex ticket but haven't received any email to confirm the event has been cancelled by either the administrators or skills matter. As such it's possible that a number of attendees will show up on the day expecting a conference. We should perhaps have a presence there or at least put up a couple of flyers pointing them to the correct venue?
I believe once we've locked down a new venue (today/tomorrow), we'll announce it more formally
Watch this space! 🙂
What @dharrigan said ☝️, @cfeckardt
@salaun.clement have any more speakers confirmed their availability ? Thanks
@dotemacs Sheet up to date, still no news from some!
Thanks @salaun.clement
Bugged the administrator, got an update just now: >Thank you for your email. > >Please note no events are scheduled to be held this week commencing 11 November 2019 and the Administrators are unable to confirm whether any other future events scheduled with the Company will be taking place. > >Whilst there is no commitment from the Administrators to hold any future events, a potential purchaser of the business and assets may wish to honour these bookings. (Emphasis hers)
That's sad - they can't really say anything else at this point though, I guess.
I assume they want to keep every asset they can for a sale
They don't seem to realize ~5 speakers have cancelled
At the moment I don't think it matters to them. ReSolve won't be running the conference either way.
Yep
Have we come to any decision about how much tickets for ClojureY would cost? It would be amazing if we could make it free for attendees, but not sure if that's practical given the costs.
People (like jiriknesl above) are already badly out of pocket over this.
I am a little worried about the implications to speakers. Does cancelling at this point void a contract? Are ReSolve/the buyer going to pursue?
The hope is for it to be free, which looks likely. A few sponsors have offered to contribute.
The event should be free, all relevant costs are covered
I would not put my hopes up for this, as an unsecured creditor, you won't get any money back in the long term (if at all)
Is that even legal to continue selling tickets when they know there’ll be no conference?
@jack.crawley92 I personally do not have signed any contact with skillsmatter. Just confirmed my presence by email and sent an invoice for T&L (which is unlikely to be paid anyway)
The last message from SkillsMatter, pinned up inside the main door
Same.
