Typescript is kind of similar to Clojure.spec and Malli in the sense that it provides a way to specify data shape à la carte!

Agreed.
I find that Typescript uses that information quite effectively to provide editor-integrated assistance. It can almost feel like java, when writing something. to see what you can do with something.
