good news: dirac will be able to run in chrome as a replacement of internal devtools (e.g. it will be docked inside, no extension will be needed)
chromium devs recently finished decoupling of devtools from the main project, and now it is possible to run chrome with command-line flag to load alternative devtools as decribed in [1] (look for --custom-devtools-frontend flag)
