@dharrigan I don't think so - my namespaces have no relationship to my clj file, and I'm pretty sure I've used non-namespaced keys in the past. All of mine are currently namespaced only to help me distinguish them, such as :database.sql/spec and :database.datomic/spec.

in general ::somekey creates a namespaced key with the current namespace, but yes, there is no restriction on the key-ns/key form
