@annapawlicka: Testing creating rooms. Would be cool if the IRC and Gitter ldnclj ppl could all move here.
yeah, gitter sucks
I mean, it's ok
but it would be more convenient to have everything in slack
couldn’t agree more
it seems there’s more going on on slack than irc, people are more willing to talk when there’s a fancy ui :simple_smile:
also more firewall friendly
loosing track of all these chat rooms tbh...
gitter is really nice to maintain a channel to support your lib on github and the like tho
at least it works nicely for cider/clj-refactor
afternoon
eyup
There's an irc channel?
or.. was?
@xlevus: is... #C0522EZ9N on freenode
neato
not sure about neato @xlevus ... now i've got 3 channels for the same thing but different
True, that's less than ideal.
seems like the clojure community is rallying behind this slack org. Makes sense to have the main #C0522EZ9N chatroom here.
I'd give it a week. It could turn out that people prefer their mailing lists to Slack

plong?
i think that's the right response
having irccloud/gitter/slack side-by-side i notice that gitter is nicest at narrow windows by far
/giphy brent rambo
@xlevus: now you've made me hate slack
ahahaha
winning.
or should I say. /giphy winning
the hugmaster is here :simple_smile:
so, where do you lot work?
or even, who works with Clojure full-time?
i'm a full-time clojurist and mostly i work near old st, or brighton
I work on http://yellerapp.com/ kinda full time (I have a day job, but work on yeller 35+ hours a week on top of the day job)
though right now i'm looking at a norsk fjord
(I work from my flat in southampton, but have been to a bunch of london clojure stuff, and it's the closest community stuff that I can get to easily)
@mccraigmccraig: jelly
@tcrayford: jelly ?
jealous, but I can remember how to spell it 😕
jelly is acceptable
@xlevus: Mastodon C. In London (Fitrrovia atm)
noice
been doing clojure full time for 3 years now
noooiice
nice to know there are clojure jobs out there.
was reading the mailing list, keep hearing about new places that use clj.
I guess the trick is, to get a job using clj, and not take a paycut from going 10+ years experience to 0 years.
@xlevus: or to start using clojure in your current company, which is what i did (my company tho, which makes it easier :simple_smile:
Yeah. I'm currently attacking the issue on all fronts. Trying to push clojure on my current client, building a new product on clojure, and looking for new clients who use python & clojure.
one will win.
morning everyone
I work at ThoughtWorks - I've had two clojure projects so far, but have to admit I've been lucky - hard to sell clojure to our typical clients.
Hey all, I’m not a member of the London Clojurians, I currently Live in East Yorkshire. However I am going to come down to some of the Meetups. :simple_smile:
Hoping to set something similar up in the north.
hi @gjnoonan I think the LDN Clojurians is for anyone who has some association with Clojure and London. I only have been a few times and hanging out here is good fun
Hello all
Morning all...
@gjnoonan: I used to live in Leeds, you should start a Yorkshire Clojurians
@gjnoonan: I still have loads of mates up there so would be happy to fill a spot one time
I used to live in Sheffield (went to uni there), have few friends up there as well
if anybody there wants to grab a beer or whatever next time I'm around, more than happy for it (co worker lives there)
Thanks @thattommyhall :simple_smile:
@tcrayford: whats your non-yeller job?
I work for a US real estate search thing that's super relaxed/remote/etc
rails 😕
Evening all!
