Morning folks. Who's coming to @pupeno 's pair programming event at SkillsMatter tonight?
and don't forget to sign up for ProCloDo next week (Wed) as we are taking stock of the progress on the Event Management App so far. Good time to join in.
And as @meow has just joined this channel I think I might suggest we use the pair programming event tonight to look at the Slack-Chat initiative https://hackpad.com/Home-YVTdpH47Vz4
Although I prefer one of the suggested names: shrooms (shared rooms)
hello
I don't know nothin about no shrooms
oh, wait, shared rooms
thought you meant something else
you might want to look at #C0J20813K as well
been dogfooding the shit out of that
oh, fuck. can't say shit here can I
oops
morning
morning
wow @meow you are all over the place!
is there a channel you haven't signed up for π
just finished all 196
so, no
Morning
morning
morning - been away for a while, but trying to get enthusiastic for getting back into some spare-time clojure...
Hey up @korny how are thee lad?
Been on a really shitty project that I shouldnβt describe in public (besides, it would include NSFW language). Looks like I might be able to extract myself from it though.
Been there...wait, I still am
you guys should pair up on what @korny needs for his graphics stuff
play around with core.matrix
it works really well in the repl and has great docstrings
My main problem with pairing is most of my coding time is on the train, sans internet. (Which is also making me really value offline docs and ebooks)
and my code uses it so you got examples
@korny: oh, I just meant for tonights meeting
ah, good idea, but I have a doctorβs appointment so canβt make it.
bummer
lol @meow 's omnipresence today
He knows when you've been good or bad so be good for goodness sake...whoops, not right season
Stollen is good at anytime @mccraigmccraig π
+1
what is stollen
if someone takes yours it becomes stolen
I know that
but before they take it from you, what is it
and they are very yummie.
@jamiei: i have performed an experiment and confirmed your assertion
sweet
in the US they are typically horrible and given as gifts and never eaten
calling someone a "fruit cake" is a slur meant to imply either mental illness or homosexuality
because, you know, both of those are really, really bad things
fruit-cake is also an archaic british-english slur referring to mental illness... i think it's fallen out of use because british swearing got a lot fruitier in the last 50 years
If you are within the UK, around London i am seeking a tutor who can devote at least twice a week to helping me get through Clojure/ClojureScript. Also I am working on my final year project. I need maybe 2-3hours each day until 1st week of April. Name your rate/hour pls. Thanks.
I used to love Stollen. Along with crusty bread ...
@progzilla: you should not pay money for this - money is for drugs
community support learning for free
@progzilla: get along to a Dojo and bring problems or stuff you want to learn. Plenty of ppl want to help
Yes I'll do that. Thanks @agile_geek @meow
@agile_geek: i made a gluten-free stollen last christmas !
unfortunately it was shit compared to the gluten-full version i made at the same time π
GF versions tend to be!
but that could just be my lack of gluten-free baking prowess, rather than a universal constant
@progzilla: you could also go along to this http://hackthetower.co.uk/ and ask @jr0cket to work with you on a Clojure thing. If you propose it as a technology to try others may want to join in.
@agile_geek okay I'll do that
I had some gluten, but it got stolen π
@progzilla: what kind of application domain would you like to use clojure
By domain, you mean?
Sorry am a student..
what are you studying
what kind of programs do you want to be able to write using clojure/script
@progzilla: yes, please do come to http://hackthetower.co.uk - it's free, it's this Saturday 10am until 5pm, I will feed you tesco's finest sandwiches (or falafel if your are gluten intolerant). Oh and we will spend the day building with Clojurescript, no experience necessary (as Google has most of the answers).
I love falafel - haven't had it in ages
had some gluten, got stolen
@jr0cket thanks. I will be there. Sandwich is a very good idea too.
You obviously haven't tasted Tesco sandwiches!
Just Ham
I get a lot of the tesco's wraps that are very nice and slightly healthier than pizza
I am always open to suggestions for food too, so long as the tesco's next to the office has it in stock and doesn't require cooking
