When y’all are livestreaming, do you share your whole screen, and if so how do you track the live chat on the http://liveedu.tv site? Multiple monitors?

Yes, whole screen + multiple monitors. Some also just keep live chat on screen.

‘k… I’ll probably power up my laptop and have running alongside my desktop — and stream from the desktop

What I do is to stream one complete screen and pop out the live chat and keep it above the other windows

@seancorfield Also, a lot of people have smaller monitors so if you want to stream for a broader audience you might want to increase your font size from the start

also there is a pretty good setup guide for OBS on livecoding with the settings optimized for their platform

@sveri Yeah, I’ll do a test today streaming from my big screen and viewing on my laptop and see how the fonts look. I already use 14pt in my editor which is what the guide says is a minimum so I’ll see if I need to make it bigger.

@seancorfield Cool, thats what I set it to too. When will you probably stream? I am curious, but I am afraid you are to far away from my time zone. My bed time is in round about 3h

I don’t know when I’ll stream. Part of the problem is that mostly what I work on is proprietary so livestreaming my actual work would be … weird … so it would have to be mostly for dedicated stuff where someone (or some group of folks) want to see how I tackle some specific problem or process.
