Just got this in a http://chess.com puzzle rush... Ummm.. Think something went wrong.
Why are there 2 black kings? lol
To win in such a position, you simply need to checkmate one king, i would think. and the other king makes it hard to have breathing room if the position is cramped...
Maybe Rook a1... or King to f2, g3, or something like that after pawn g4
that’s witchcraft
Even accepting black has 2 kings, I have no idea what the best move for white would be in this position...
Sit back and and watch black self-destruct through civil war
I'm trying to recall the exact citation and quote, but Wittgenstein had something to say about games that applies here if I recall... something about if you break the rules of a game, you aren't playing that game anymore and you have effectively introduced some new game... there's also that joke about playing chess with pigeons: no matter what you do they will strut around with their chests puffed up, crap on the board, and knock over all the peices
(oh I mangled that joke - it was "never argue with a <fill-in-the-blank> - it's like playing chess with a pigeon" etc.)
Whoa that’s tough! Were you able to figure it out? Only move that came to mind was NC4. If the RB4 takes the knight you can get it with B3, if they don’t take your knight, then ND6 which would put KC8 in check, but I’m not sure where to go after that as I only started learning and for all I know it will cost dearly later 😅. The two kings are weird though…
I played Nc4, and it said it was wrong... Dunno what it wanted. EVen if Kc8 is correct and Kg7 was erroneous, there is no good move. If Kg7 was error was Kc8 was erroneous, then Rxc7 is just winning a pawn, but it's not a decisive move IMO. It's just.. I feel like http://chess.com has one job! And if you give black 2 kings you've falied at that job 😄
Sorry it was a bad idea then, I’m a beginner but just uninformed enough to try reckless things 😛 My partner and I have been mostly learning and playing through http://lichess.com. It’s open-source and my partner who plays the puzzle games has not encountered any bugs like that as far as I know.
No idea, but I just wanted to say that it seems like a great present for a 30 year old engineer. 😎👌
