So basically if I want to preserve :remote I should move the read core into separate functions that I call.

That's what I've done, yeah. Those two functions cover all of my use cases for recursively calling the parser

Can anyone help me out understand what’s the status of om-next. A bit confusing.

I know that it’s mostly production ready, and people are using it in production.

Just wondering why it’s still in alpha, and the docs seem a bit neglected (ex: recursive queries in the wiki is Soon with last edited 9 Nov 2015 ). Seems like there was a big push and it has slowly lost some momentum.
