@austincrft: I want to build a great editor experience that is easily extendable if needed more. In the case of highlight-selected, I think having the selected word highlighted should be part of the atom base functionality. I found it strange that it wasn’t there to begin with, that’s why I added it to the core layer. For the rest, yes I agree. We should have core as thin and essential as possible to have a great experience and have smaller composable layers to extend it
