Just a thought; Have you considered some sort of ‘fast start’ mode of proton that doesn’t do the proton status popup and package update/refresh etc? My reason is that when using atom to edit eg commit messages (or other short lived edits triggered by console commands) it takes a while to load atom, the packages, proton, show the proton status and presumably reset and re-set all configuration. Maybe a manual ‘refresh from .proton’ step and option? Maybe I just need to figure out how to better reuse the same instance of atom when launching editors.
