really impressed with what everyone has been able to get together here. Congrats!
@reborg noticed that the trello board has been made private. if you need any more help I have a couple of hours to spare over the next few days
Nice team work! And thanks @jr0cket and collaborators in the past months for assembling the speaker list, that was a free gift! It is indeed a lovely Clojure community around here.
Sure thing. Can you ping me email in PM?
As a newcomer to this community, is this conference usually paid? And in what ballpark is the fee usually?
If you buy it a year in advance, Β£99. Closer to the date of the conf, ~Β£500.
Oh wow quite a difference...
Hmm... there's a link to EventBrite on the website now and it says Free :thinking_face:
Yes, the prices there were for ClojureX. This is re:Clojure. Itβs a new conf, new price π
:thanks:
new price == free
Excellent π I've registered.
Anyone and Everyone is welcome to help make this new conference a success π
If there's anything I could help with, please let me know π My Clojure experience isn't extensive (my main language is Java) but if there's any way I can still be useful, I'd be happy to hear it out.
@tiago844 Thanks for that very kind offer! Is there anything you can think of that may be of help to the conference? Doesn't have to be speaking/presenting π
congrats to the team for getting this going so quickly!!!! great news
and I have booked my ticket just now.
π¦
I hope everyone is good today! π
Got my ticket - you guys, this community, just the best π
The cost of SkillsMatter Clojure Exchange conference was Β£150 plus 20% VAT for the first 50 tickets. Then prices went up in regular increments with a final cost of Β£650 plus 20% VAT. re:Clojure is a different conference organised by different people in the space of about a week. All SkillsMatter conferences are unofficially cancelled as the company has gone into financial administration.
Yes, totally what John has said. re:Clojure is not related at all to ClojureX. It's a different conference, different venue, different organisers - although (I hope!) with the same great spirit, enthuasiasm and love of Clojure! π
Thankfully we've had very kind people jump in to lend their support (Sponsors, volunteers) to keep the flame of Clojure burning bright! π
We've had some great support and help from people looking to keep the flame of Clojure burning bright π
Our hope is that we can carry across the same love of Clojure that was evident in ClojureX π

Everyone that's been involved with this is fantastic π
I think it shows the community spirit is very much alive and well in London and is thriving and growing!
The hope is that this won't be a London-centric conference, but will move from city to city
or at least be rooted in London, but offshoots elsewhere.
slowly slowly
(first (repeat :conf))
but we'll hopefully raise the repeat
expression then π

Well done guys for getting this turned around so quickly, awesome stuff! I see on the eventbrite site that there's only 10 tickets left! How many registered so far?
Amazing stuff! Would love to be there π₯ Any thoughts on video recording / sharing?
@matttylr 90
Yes, we are recording it
and will be shared, all free
Tremendous! Looking forward to seeing them π
