is it possible to change slack preferences so I don't get a * in the title bar every time there is a new message in some channel I'm in?

@borkdude: I've muted some channels. For the Mac App it's possible to have Slack only put a badge on the icon if you're mentioned instead of for all activity, but I don't know if that option exists for other platforms.

muting channels is great, and I highly recommend making sure all slacks are set to do popup notifications only on mentions/messages
