When I open slack in a browser it puts me in the channel I last visited, but at the bottom of the message queue. How do I quickly get to the first of my unread messages in that channel?
Alt-Shift-Up/Down put me in entirely different channels. Yikes!
The slack keyboard shortcuts popup is half hidden on my screen and can't be scrolled so I can't see the bottom half of the list of shortcuts - great! 😞
The help file says "If there is more unread activity than fits on your screen, Slack will display a blue bar at the top of the messages view. Click the Jump link on the left to go to the oldest unseen message in the channel, then scroll down until you reach the most recent message to catch up on the conversation."
For me the blue bar fades away after about two seconds, taking the "Jump" option with it.
So it looks like I have two seconds to hit the "Jump" link when I first start slack otherwise there is no easy way to jump to the oldest unread message in a channel. Yes? No?
Is there some help or documentation on how to use the clojurebot in Slack?
pkobrien: in my experience the link sticks around for more than two seconds - which version are you using?
@noisesmith: I'm just using the browser version of slack in Chrome on Windows
the mac os client combines them, the android app does not
