At work I purposely avoid this (and write “fix for #42” instead of “fix #42") because usually I don’t want to close issues automatically, but for trivial fixes it’s fine I guess. Often I want to go through a testing/feedback cycle with the person who raised the ticket.
but I hear what you’re saying. I’m slightly OCD about other things, like line width <= 80 😉
