How can you enable http maven repos again? I've worked at places where there's privately hosted in-VPN http-based repos which is perfectly fine in the context.

I believe you can change the default blocked repo settings in the m2 settings.xml but I don’t have a link handy

Yeah, I think that's the case. I didn't realize you were replicating maven's release notes 🙂
