To those who are going to EuroClojure: are you going to have a re-tooling meetup?

pesterhazy 2017-07-06T14:17:50.428484Z

Is there interest? I could organize an unsession

cgrand 2017-07-06T14:27:01.759311Z

I won’t be there sadly, but I think it’s an opportunity

dominicm 2017-07-06T14:29:33.850205Z

I'd be up for that.

dominicm 2017-07-06T14:30:13.875422Z

I'll be the curmudgeonly complaining about how vim would never be able to do that 😛

cgrand 2017-07-06T14:39:02.200549Z

what’s your take on Stu’s “swing is great for dev tools”?

dominicm 2017-07-06T14:44:37.406292Z

I think it's a pretty interesting take. It definitely would free me as a vim user from having to build UIs in vim (hard!). And ensure's that the clojure community consistently has UIs that work for data that isn't necessarily constrained by editor choice.

dominicm 2017-07-06T14:44:45.411207Z

I'd love to be more unixy.

dominicm 2017-07-06T14:45:38.444209Z

I had been thinking about ncurses-based tooling for clojure & loading that in a pane/terminal for uis to be more "open". I infact build clojure-check as a standalone nrepl client that sends a bunch of linters at the nrepl so it would be editor agnostic entirely.

richiardiandrea 2017-07-06T14:51:40.670265Z

Let's organize one unsession on that

cgrand 2017-07-06T15:09:30.359459Z

my main objection to swing is: clojurescript

dominicm 2017-07-06T15:12:03.453920Z

I guess you mimic from the compatible uis available in the host?

richiardiandrea 2017-07-06T15:26:59.002850Z

pesterhazy: I am in!
